The Practice is run by Peter Smith and Simon Whitmill who are both fully qualified Architects and are registered members of the Royal Institute of British Architects. Peter and Simon began their working relationship when they first met at Brighton Polytechnic’s School of Architecture in 1982 and now are the Managing Partners of RSP Architects, taking over from Raymond Smith in 2001.

They are supported by an experienced group of Technical & Administration Staff, along with established working relationships with other cost and design consultants, enabling us to provide the quality Architectural Service your project needs.

We passionately believe in making buildings and spaces that provide Clients with exciting design solutions that work for them, are sympathetic to the surrounding environment and are practical and sustainable to maintain. Our ‘craft based’ approach to design is founded on a detailed understanding of construction with both Peter and Simon having spent extensive periods as site-based Architects working in the midst of the construction process.

As a practice we are fully BIM compliant and have undertaken complex BIM Level 2 projects with PAS 1192-5 security data requirements. We use Autodesk licensed products with Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection used for producing all our 3D and 2D information in Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD formats.

We actively support charities and community activities in and around our local area and have a designated charity we support each year, selected by the Partners and Staff. These have included St Wilfred’s Hospice, Chestnut Tree House, MacMillan Cancer Support and Tennis in the Park.
